Another hot day in the Tri-State and it will stay that way for awhile. We have this area of high pressure that is keeping the weather hot for us. The area that the high pressure is under is known as the “Heat Dome.” We are on the edge of the dome known as the “Ring of Fire.” Bad news is, we are not 100% on this, meaning that our thunderstorm chances are lower than Central Indiana’s. Mostly clear overnight, warm and muggy with lows in the mid-70s. Mostly sunny, hot, breezy for Tuesday with highs hitting around 100. We do have that chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, but that is a low chance. Slight chance for Tuesday Night, staying partly cloudy with lows once again in the mid-70s.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: Warm front will lift on Wednesday and we will see our temps still staying in the low 100s, still breezy, and that small chance of showers and thunderstorms staying. Our best chance of showers and thunderstorms will come on Thursday well ahead of a cold front. Our chances is at 35%. That might seem low, but compared to the other chances, that is high. Still hot and breezy, highs this time in the mid-90s. Still a chance on Friday, highs in the low to mid-90s.
Weekend: On the back side of the cold front Saturday and looking to be nice. Highs still above normal, but in the lower 90s. Sunday, high pressure off to the east will start to turn winds from the south. We do have a slight chance of showers and thunderstorm during the evening and overnight hours.
Monday: Warm front moves over and rain chances go back up, somewhat with highs in the mid-90s again.
Severe Weather Risk: Our chance of severe weather in the Tri-State for the next seven days will be low. Part of our Indiana counties are under a Slight Risk for Tuesday with main threats being damaging winds, hail, lighting, and heavy rainfall. The rest of the forecast time, maybe a few strong ones, but we just do not have the conditions at this time for severe weather to happen.
