We finally did see some rain today, but not enough to get us out of this drought. I know many of you do not like flash floods, but it would be nice to have one right now. We did see severe weather today. Main threats were heavy rainfall in some areas and gusty winds, but a wall cloud was reported in Tippecanoe County. Nothing major reported out of that. The cold front is still sagging south and we are still seeing showers and thunderstorms from it. On the back side of the front, where we are right now, we will see some isolated showers and thunderstorms, nothing severe. We will be mostly cloudy and cooler with lows in the upper 60s. The sun will be back out on Friday with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms in the morning. Highs for Friday will be in the mid-80s, which is below normal. High pressure will start to move in on Friday Night giving us mostly clear conditions and lows in the lower 60s while Saturday will be mostly sunny and warmer with highs back to the upper 80s. Sunday and Monday we turn hot once again with highs in the low to mid-90s. A cold front will move in next week on Tuesday and bring us another chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs during that time look to stay in the low to mid-90s.
Severe Weather Risk
Too early at this time to tell if we will have any severe weather next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I do believe that these storms will be strong with heavy rainfall, lighting, gusty winds, and some hail at times. If we do see any severe weather forecast it may not be until the end of this weekend when we do know.
