We start off the work week with more heat. It just seems like we are now getting use to temps that are now well into the 90s and the low 100s. He have this area of high pressure in the Central Plain States that we call the “Heat Dome.” That is an area where we just see temps go up and stay up there until the system moves out. We are on the edge of that heat dome, a prefect location for storms. The edge of the heat dome is known as the “Ring of Fire.” That is just what will be happening tonight. A cold front towards Lake Michigan will help fire off some showers and thunderstorms overnight. We will stay mostly cloudy and warm with lows in the mid-70s. That front will sag south during the day on Tuesday, still giving us a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, still hot with highs in the lower to mid-90s. Tuesday Night once again with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, warm, lows in the lower 70s.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: We have a warm front lifting north on Wednesday, giving us a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but that chance is a lower chance. However, it will turn hotter. Highs for forecast to be in the mid to upper 90s. Our chance of rain still does stay on Thursday and Friday. Partly sunny, will be cooler with highs in the lower 90s for Thursday. Friday, a cold front will sweep in and turn our winds from the northwest. Chance of rain still in there, skies will start to clear once the front moves over, and temps should stay in the upper 80s.
Weekend: Nice and clear for Saturday on the back side of the cold front and high pressure will be in control from our Northwest. Clear with highs in the mid-80s, which is normal for this time of the year. High pressure starts to head south and our winds turn from there. Still will be clear, highs still staying in the mid-80s, but we do have a chance of rain late in the day.
Monday: Watching a warm front for the start of the next work week that will bring us another chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps will start to go back up around 90.
Severe Weather Risk: Slight Risk of severe thunderstorm for Tuesday. Main threats being damaging winds, hail, lighting, and heavy rainfall. As for the next seven days, we will have those “On and Off” chances of strong to severe weather. I do believe that mains threats will remain damaging winds, hail, heavy rainfall.
