Covington WxWarn Forecast for Wednesday, October 24, 2012

One more night and day of nice weather before the rain and colder air moves in. The front will move in during the evening hours and will start to push our temps down. Normally cloud cover and rain overnight would normally push our temps down a little bit, but this time the winds will be out of the north and coming in at 25-30mph. Rain still staying for Friday and it will be colder with highs most likely getting into the lower 50s. Friday Night, front will move on out and rain should start to end. However, temps will be cold into the mid-30s. Chance of rain for Saturday morning, but clouds will then start to decrease. Sunday thru Wednesday looking nice with mostly sunny to sunny skies and temps in the lower 50s. Overnight lows for Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be in the lower 30s. If we have enough moisture around, we might see a snow flurry or two around. Putting in a chance of rain late for Wednesday evening, Halloween, so the kids are going to have to dress warm and be ready in case it does rain.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, 58
Thursday: Mostly sunny, breezy, 78
Thursday Night: Widespread showers and thunderstorms, cloudy, breezy, 45
Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, cloudy, 52

After a nice Monday, warmer weather will be staying around for the next few days and nights. Highs for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will stay in the upper 70s to lower 80s with skies staying partly cloudy to clear and in the mid-50s. The northern part of the Tri-State could see a few showers tonight and on Tuesday, but it will be more like an hour event. A cold front will start to edge its way into the area on Thursday Night into Friday. This will drop our temps down for Friday into the mid-60s. Our best chance of rain will be on Saturday when the front will move over and cooler air rushes in. I think we will be lucky to even get to the forecast high of 57 at this time. Sunday and Monday looking to be on the sunny side, but still in the mid to upper 50s.

Evansville WxWarn Forecast for Thursday, October 4, 2012

Clouds will start to increase overnight as a cold front will move more into the Tri-State. I am putting in a small chance of rain, but that will be more towards the sunrise hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday as the front moves in. I do believe our high for the day will be set before the front moves in. Once the front passes over us, temps will then drop. Our best chance of rain will come Friday Night with chances over 80% and temps reaching the lower 40s. Chance of showers for Saturday both early and late. The early round will be a small chance with the late round being the best chance. Skies will be partly sunny and highs in the upper 50s. The late round will then lead into the overnight hours, mainly south of the Ohio. If you are north of the Ohio, you will have a higher chance of seeing frost. High pressure will be in the Central Plains on Sunday and move our way on Monday. Temps for Sunday in the upper 50s and Monday in the lower 60s. High will be towards the east on Tuesday and winds will shift from the south putting temps in the upper 60s. We do have another chance of rain for Wednesday as a cold front will sweep over us again. I will be watching this as we might have a chance of strong storms.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, isolated shower around sunrise, 54
Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 67
Friday Night: Widespread showers and thunderstorms, cloudy, 41
Saturday: Isolated showers, partly sunny, 58
Saturday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly south of the Ohio, mostly cloudy, frost possible, 38
Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny, cool, 58
Monday: Mostly sunny, 63
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, 68
Wednesday: Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, partly cloudy, 66
Thursday: Mostly sunny, 67

Covington WxWarn Forecast for Thursday, October 4, 2012

After nice day, we will start heading towards cooler temps and rain. A cold front is starting to push into Central Indiana and Central Illinois overnight, giving us a chance of rain. I do believe our best chance will come after the 3AM hour. Our temps on Friday will be lucky to reach the mid-50s as the front will pass over during the early morning hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day under cloudy skies. Friday night will be one of the coldest with rain and temps staying just above freezing. Rain should leave early Saturday morning just in time for the Apple Fest to start. Skies will be clearing but temps still staying in the mid-50s. Cold again for Saturday Night with lows in the lower to mid-30s with frost being possible in some locations. High pressure will be in the Central Plains on Sunday and start heading our way on Monday. Temps for Sunday in the mid-50s again, but heading towards the lower 60s for Monday. Winds start turning from the south on Tuesday on the backside of the high and we warm back up to mid-60s. Next chance of rain on Wednesday as another cold front and trough of low pressure will move in. I’ll be watching this to see if we might get any strong storms from this.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3AM, 50
Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, cloudy, cool, 54
Friday Night: Scattered shows and thunderstorms, cloudy, cold, 36
Saturday: Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms early, decreasing clouds, 54

Evansville WxWarn Forecast for Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

We might see a shower or two overnight in the Tri-State, but nothing to worry about. Otherwise, it will be a nice night for Fall Fest or just about anything else you want to do. We could see patchy fog also overnight and early in the morning. Thursday looks to be best day out of the next seven with temps above normal and nothing but clear blue skies. That will only be for one day. A cold front will start to move into the Tri-State starting early Friday morning giving us more rain and temps below normal. Our rain chances still stay with us for Friday Night and Saturday along with those cooler temps. Rain should end early Sunday and clouds will start to decrease as an area of high pressure will move in and will be on top of us Monday. Tuesday, the high pressure moves east ward and our winds will shift from the south and our temps will start to jump back up for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, isolated shower or two, patchy fog, 53
Thursday: Morning fog, clear and sunny, warm, 81
Thursday Night: Increasing clouds, chance of showers before sunrise, 52

Monday: Mostly sunny, 63
Tuesday: Sunny, 67
Wednesday: Partly sunny, 71

Covington WxWarn Forecast for Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

We have a chance of rain overnight as the area of low pressure moves on out. Once this moves out, we will clear out for Thursday giving way to sunshine and temps above normal. A cold front will then start to push in Central Indiana/Illinois during the overnight hours, raising our rain chances. Rain chances will remain high for Friday and Friday Night with daytime highs staying below average and overnight lows going into the upper 30s. I did put in a chance of rain early for Saturday morning, but by the time the Apple Fest starts that should be out of the area. Clouds will decrease during the day, but temps will be cooler behind the front in the upper 50s. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday all look nice and sunny. High pressure will be towards our south on Monday and be towards our east on Tuesday, which will shift winds from the south and raise our temps. Our next chance of rain will be next Wednesday as we wait for another cold front.

Tonight: Isolated showers, partly cloudy, 54
Thursday: Mostly sunny, warm, 80
Thursday Night: Increasing clouds, scattered showers and thunderstorms after Midnight, 49
Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 56
