Evansville WxWarn Forecast for Monday, September 24, 2012

This morning felt more like winter instead of fall. 40 was the morning low at the Evansville Regional Airport on the North Side, but we got right back up to 71 for the high. 0.00” of rain to report today, but that will change later tonight and for about the next seven days.

A warm front associated with a low pressure will increase our cloud cover tonight and increase our rain chances also. Our best chance of rain will come after the 2AM hour and lasting all day and overnight Tuesday. Rain will also stay with us on Wednesday as we wait for a cold front to move over Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning. We should see the sun out at time on Thursday, but still calling it a partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Friday looks to be nice for the most part with partly sunny skies during the day, but we wait for yet another cold front to bring more rain in. This front will be weakening as it moves more towards the Tri-State, so our rain chances will not be too high. Also putting in a chance of for Sunday and Monday as we watch a system towards the Tennessee Valley. Otherwise, looks nice with a mix of sun and clouds.

Looking out into voodoo country, the GFS is showing on October 9 and 10, we have a cold front move over us, giving us a chance of rain and if it holds together like I think it could, we might see some strong to severe thunderstorms. This is all two weeks out, so who knows what may happen.

Severe Weather Threat looking to say low for the next week. Some of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side and maybe a few isolated severe warnings. Main threats are mainly going to be heavy rainfall, some small hail, and maybe some gusty winds.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, scattered showers and thunderstorms, 52
Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 81
Tuesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 64
Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 81
Wednesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy, 62
Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, partly cloudy, 80
Friday: Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny, 78
Saturday: Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny, 75
Sunday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny, 75
Monday: Slight chance showers and thunderstorms, mix of sun and clouds, 75

Covington WxWarn Forecast for Monday, September 24, 2012

We started off the day with frost and temps below 40. This afternoon we did get back to near 70 and had a prefect fall day.

High pressure has moved out of the area and clouds will be increasing overnight ahead of a warm front that will move rain into Illiana. Our best chance of rain will be after the 3AM hour. After that, the rain will be staying around all day Tuesday and overnight. A cold front will sweep over on Wednesday giving us another chance of rain. Front should be out of Illiana by the overnight hours giving us a chance of rain.

Thursday and Friday both looking to be under partly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-70s. We do have a chance of rain for Friday Night as another cold front moves in. The front should leave the area by early Saturday morning giving way to mostly sunny skies later in the day. Sunday and Monday looking to be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 70s.

Looking out into voodoo country, the GFS is showing on October 9 and 10, we have a cold front move over us, giving us a chance of rain and if it holds together like I think it could, we might see some strong to severe thunderstorms. This is all two weeks out, so who knows what may happen.
